The Lowenstein family’s entrepreneurial legacy pioneered in the 1960s when the team began its collection of significant hospitality developments throughout Miami Beach, South Florida, and affiliates in the Caribbean.

Acquires the White House Hotel, South Beach.

1967

Acquires the Copacabana Hotel, Miami Beach.

1970

Acquires the 150,000 sq. ft. Mercantile Office Building on Lincoln Road and Washington Avenue in Miami Beach.

1971

Acquisition of the 352-room DiLido Beach Hotel in Miami Beach.

1974

Acquisition of the 325-room Seville Beach Hotel, Miami Beach.

1980
1985

Develops Paseo de la Infanta, a 200,000 sq. ft. a unique multi-tenant, open format shopping center in Palermo, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

1989

Co-develops Paseo Alcorta, a 2 million sq. ft. shopping center in Buenos Aires with more than 200 tenants.

1997

Redevelops the 200 room, Curaçao Casino Resort to the Sheraton Curacao & Casino.

1999

Initiates redevelopment of selected areas of the 600-room, Holiday Inn Resort in Aruba

Redevelops the Princes Beach Resort & Casino in Curaçao (and repositions to the all-inclusive Breezes Curaçao in December 2001).

2001

Acquires the Dupont Plaza, a 3.5-acre waterfront site in Downtown Miami, Florida.

2004

Initiates the co-development of EPIC Residences & Hotel in Downtown Miami, a mixed-use project consisting of over 1.5 million sq. ft. with a 55- story residential tower housing a 411 Kimpton Hotel, over 300 luxury residences, a marina and restaurant and retail space

2008

Redevelops the Floris Suite Hotel, Curaçao.

2009

The EPIC Hotel managed by Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants opens.

2010
2010

Partners with the Virgin Group to create the startup hospitality company Virgin Hotels.

2011

Acquires and initiates development of Old Dearborn Bank Building in Chicago to convert to Virgin Hotel.

2013

Full renovation of rooms of Curaçao Casino Resort into the Hilton Curaçao.

2013

Leases 19,000 GSF of retail space to Walgreens on Lincoln Road and Collins Avenue.

2014

Acquires a 126-room luxury ocean front property and converts it into The Ritz-Carlton, Bal Harbor.

2015

The first Virgin Hotel in the world opens in Chicago with 250 rooms and unique amenities.

Lionstone Development celebrates its 50th year anniversary.

Opening of Dreams Curaçao after 15 MM renovation.

Lionstone partners to merge The Ritz-Carlton South Beach and the historic Sagamore Hotel.

Renovation and rebranding of Floris Curaçao to the Zoetry Resort Curaçao is completed.

Lionstone Development opens its new headquarters in the heart of the Miami Design District.

Acquires a 72,172 sq. ft. office building in Miami Gardens.
